Debrecen rotary half marathon.

New PB by over 4 mins :)

Target was 1:33 - this was a bit of a shock :) :)

The start was a mess - a squash to get past the begining - that was ok as it spread the people out a bit, but then at the end of the track it was a mess - people queuing to get to get through. I lost 10-15 seconds there. I should have started nearer the front - overtaking so many people slowed me down.

Apart from that it was a good race - I set a pace that I felt I could keep - thinking about it now a pace of 4m15 is pretty stunning for me :)

I was able to overtake many of the people I often race with and I could keep the pace going By the end of the first lap I realized that I had a chance of a good time, and so it seemed - it showed 23 minutes. I actaully increased the speed in the 2nd lap, and then again in the 3rd though I was trying to keep energy for a push in the 4th.

However I struggled in the 4th - I couldn't quite find that push at the end to break 1h30 which I really want to do.

Anyway, this is way better expected - I am happy, in fact I'm going to have a beer or two!

Now what can I do next Sunday - I had predicted 1h32... another PB?

Thanks both. I have decided to be careful on Sunday. I had some small muscle issue in my my thigh after last Sunday and have had to take it easy this week.

I will run on Suday in Vivicitta, but am going to take it easy. Running the Vienna marathon is the main target for me, the good time in the half marathon was a bonus. 

I will probably run it at marathon pace - that will be about 1h37 or so.
